André M. Ebanks is the Party Leader of The Caymanian Community Party (TCCP) and proudly serves as the elected Member of Parliament for West Bay South. Passionate about strengthening the Caymanian community, André entered politics to create meaningful change and advance the needs of Caymanians in every aspect of life.
Elected to Parliament in April 2021, Andre was appointed Deputy Premier, Minister for Financial Services and Commerce, and Minister for Investment, Innovation and Social Development where he was responsible for strengthening Cayman’s most important economic pillar while improving the welfare of the most disadvantaged.
Prior to becoming an MP, André had a distinguished career in both the public and private sectors making him uniquely positioned to address the most pressing issues facing Cayman today. He served as the Cayman Islands Representative to the UK and Europe, where he advocated for Cayman’s interests, fostering relationships with international partners and assisting Caymanians with various matters. He was also a senior policy advisor in the Ministry of Financial Services and deputy chief officer in the Ministry of Community Affairs, where he led key departments, such as the Department of Children and Family Services and the Needs Assessment Unit.
André’s background in law provides him with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of governance. After earning a Master’s in Legal Practice from Manchester Metropolitan University, he was called to the Bar in 2006 and worked for more than a decade at Appleby and Walkers in their respective Investment Funds group practices.
Under André’s leadership, TCCP aims to create a stronger, more resilient Caymanian community. He is committed to addressing issues such as the high cost of living, affordable housing, immigration policies, and improving education to ensure future generations are equipped for the jobs for the future.
As a leader, André values integrity, transparency, and good governance and is determined to create a government that listens to the needs of the people and works for the benefit of all Caymanians.
